Concepts of comfort

Concepts of comfort

Its November again and it always seems to take the first week to get accustomed to the changed clock and the differing light. For some its a month to hunker down and start planning for the festive season. For us at Breac.House, its a time to truly appreciate the beauty around us as life just becomes a little quieter. November is all about appreciating life's little luxuries and comforts. Our walks become a little longer and the food a little more hearty. Long before, we knew what the Danish concept of hygge was all about, we Irish had a pretty clear view of what defines comfort. One of our guests this autumn summed it up pretty well when she said that there was something intensely comforting about sitting in Breac.House wrapped in a Donegal tweed throw with her hands wrapped around one of our lovely cups filled with warm coffee. Simple but so very true. Part of our philosophy from the beginning has been to bring those simple concepts of comfort in a very authentic way to all our guests and its the very reason why almost everything guests touch, feel and experience comes from the area. So this November, as we settle in to the comfort season, we say a really big thank you to our friends and makers who elevate everyday Irish comforts to a whole new level of modern luxury.
