Breac.House - One year on

One year today our very first guests arrived at Breac.House and what a year it has been. For some, the last year will be characterised by the weather extremes of Storm Ophelia, then the very late heavy snow and now the longest heatwave in our living memories. For us, however, the year has been all about people and experiences. 

It has been a real pleasure for us to work with all of the makers, suppliers and producers who are now firmly part of the Breac.House experience. Most importantly, we have been blessed with the wonderful guests from all over the world who we have welcomed to our little headland hideaway - many of whom have never been to Donegal (or Ireland) before.

To celebrate our first year, we have just done two new collaborations with some of our favourite suppliers - The Shack Coffee company and Bean & Goose Chocolate - making available our own blend of coffee and flavours of chocolate for our guests (and ourselves !) to enjoy. 

This summer and autumn also sees us host our first food events with the wonderfully talented Donegal-native chef Ciaran Sweeney of Forest & Marcy, Dublin. As proud members of Donegal Food Coast, these events are all about celebrating the wonderful produce from the land and sea which surrounds us here in NW Donegal.

To all the guests, makers, suppliers, producers and local community who have made our year - a very big thank you ! As we look to the year ahead, we are excited about the opportunity to share our special little corner of the world with a group of new, and returning, guests looking for authenticity at the far edge of Ireland.
