A Season of Firsts

A Season of Firsts

Its been a season of firsts for us here on Horn Head - our first guests, first time visitors to Donegal, first picnics on Horn Head, first reviews, and for us, testing for the first time all the elements of the guest experience here at Breac.House. They say you never forget your first guests and how true that is. A very sincere thank you for coming and for embracing what we are doing and for your kind words and feedback. Thank you to our friends, suppliers, makers and artists who are now firmly part of the experience.

Its September again and with it the changing light and colour of the landscape in our little corner of Donegal. The comforting purples hues of heather and blackberries combined with those precious long evenings, make this a very special time here. Summer doesn't feel quite over and the full golden fleece of autumn is not yet upon us. The beaches call out to be walked and the mountains are at their most welcoming. We start to light the fire in the evenings and the food becomes just that little bit warmer. Roasted apples and autumn berries replace the fresher flavours of summer. Autumn is a wonderful time to visit and so we look forward to welcoming guests right through until early November

Ah yes, Autumn - another special season at the far edge of Ireland.
