In Dunfanaghy (25 mins walk, 10 mins cycle, 5 mins drive)

  • *Arnold’s Hotel Restaurant & Bar* – traditional Irish cooking and welcoming Donegal hospitality. Food served in restaurant or bar area. (Booking essential : 074 9136208). <Special seafood night on Friday 30 May, Summer BBQ & Pig on a Spit on Saturday 20 June>
  • **The Rusty Oven** - Superb quality sourdough pizzeria in very buzzy renovated courtyard of Patsy Dan’s bar, local hot spot (Booking strongly advised via The Rusty Oven website, or via OpenTable, with some walk-ins taken subject to availability.). Spring hours : open Friday to Sunday nights until end June
  • Lizzie’s Diner/The Oyster Bar – no-frills, family style restaurant attached to pub with good home cooking (Booking advised : 074 9136789). Serve till 8pm (8.30pm on Sat)

In Port na Blagh (9 mins drive)

  • *Cove Restaurant*- innovative, modern restaurant. From mid-May : Thursday to Saturday nights . Booking essential at Cove Restaurant reservations

In Creeslough (15 minutes drive)

  • *Braai* - exciting new restaurant opening, located at the rear of Rose's Bar. Reflecting the South African origin of the chef, expect a modern take on the South African BBQ plus a nice complementary wine list. Spring opening hours : Friday to Sunday (May / June hours TBC). In Marble Hill (15 mins drive)

  • The Shandon Hotel Restaurant & Bar- spectacular location overlooking Marble Hill beach & Sheephaven bay. 7 days. (Booking essential : 074 9136137 or Shandon Hotel)

In Falcarragh (17 mins drive)

  • *Batch* - excellent casual daytime bistro but now doing special Thursday gourmet burger nights. Booking essential 083 3639222
  • The Strand Road Bar & Kitchen – Excellent bar food served in a cosy, local pub. 7 days. Booking essential on 074 9135907

In Glen (25 mins drive)

  • **The Olde Glen Bar & Restaurant**– Head chef and friend Ciaran Sweeney serving highly accomplished modern Irish cooking in a beautiful old pub. A local institution now achieving national acclaim. Advance booking absolutely essential - online booking at www.oldeglen.ie Wednesday to Sunday

In Glenree (25 mins drive)

Donegal Boardwalk Resort (Sandy Hills Restaurant) : shorefront restaurant located at the start (or finish!) of the boardwalk to Rosapenna strand. In Downings (30 mins drive)

  • *Fisk* - superb contemporary seafood, great location at Harbour Bar, one of our absolute favourites ! Walk-in service only and early close. Spring hours : Thursday (5pm- 8pm), Friday (5pm-8pm), Saturday (1pm-8pm) and Sunday (1pm-5pm). Summer hours TBC
  • Goose Pizza - nice pizza and drinks menu served in renovated pub. Walk-ins only (so early arrival is advised). Spring hours : Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
